Plans for a traveller site in Poole has been refused by councillors.
The site at Marsh End in Creekmoor had been suggested as a site for travellers to set up but hundreds of residents and councillors rejected the plans.
The Gypsy Council also said the site was unsuitable.
Authorities believed the proposed site was the only way to tackle the problem of travellers setting up on public parks and open spaces.
