Shocking new figures have revealed that half of all children in one area of Thanet are now living in poverty.
The charity, End Child Poverty, says there are also problems in St Leonards in Sussex where 44 per cent of children are in poverty and Brighton and Hove Kemp Town where the figures are only marginally better - at 40 per cent. It comes as a Government report suggests the UK is in danger of becoming 'permanently divided'. One teaching union has even warned that many children are attending school so hungry that they lack energy and are unable to concentrate.
