Odds of 66/1 for Al Murray election win

The Pub Landlord is 66/1 to be elected MP for South Thanet following news that Al Murray's character is planning to stand against Nigel Farage, according to Ladbrokes.

The bookies rate the fictional publican as marginally more likely to win the seat than the Liberal Democrats, and they quoted him at Evens to win more votes than Nick Clegg's party in the Kent seat.

Matthew Shaddick of Ladbrokes said: "We already rated this as the top constituency in the country for betting interest and The Pub Landlord's presence can only help enliven the democratic process.

"We'll be getting the beers in (and a glass of white wine for the ladies) if he pulls off a shock win."
