Appeal after taxi driver assaulted

Police have released images of three men they would like to speak to after a taxi driver was assaulted in Chandlers Ford on Saturday, January 10.

At around 9pm the 45 year-old driver arrived at the Asda car park on Bournemouth Road to drop off three men he had picked up in the Witts Hill area of Southampton.

The driver reported that he was punched to the side of the head and the men left without paying him. They were last seen heading on foot towards Chestnut Avenue. The driver was not injured and nothing was taken during the unprovoked assault.

Police are now releasing images of three men they would like to speak to in connection with this incident. They are described as:

Two of the men are white, the third man is of mixed race.All are of slim build and aged in their late teens or early twenties.One man was wearing a dark hooded top and a dark baseball cap.

One man was wearing a grey hooded top.Anyone with any information or the drivers of vehicles in the car park who may have seen what happened are asked to contact PC Jason Gore at Eastleigh police station on 101 quoting 44150010761
