Police not treating body found in Woodley as suspicious

Police have launched an investigation after the body of a man was found in woodland this morning.

The man, who was thought to have been found hanging from a tree, was discovered by a dog walker at about 7am and was certified dead at the scene.

The woods, just off Kingfisher Drive in Woodley, near Reading, Berks., were sealed off by police who said that the incident was being treated as an unexplained death.

A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said that the death was not being regarded as suspicious and that a file would be prepared for the Berkshire coroner.

"An inquest will be opened and adjourned after a post mortem examination has been carried out on the man's body. We are not in a position to release his name and details until all his relatives have been told of the death," added the spokesman.
