James, who is from Brighton, has written 26 novels and is well-known for his crime thriller series featuring Brighton-based Detective Superintendent Roy Grace.

His donation will go towards highlighting the danger of cyber crime and how the public can keep themselves safe.

The modern phenomenon of cyber crime blights all our lives, from credit card fraud, cloning of identities, grooming of children to bullying on social media.

Sussex Police provides me with some valuable insights for my Roy Grace novels and it is a pleasure to be able to give something back.

– Peter James

Deputy Chief Constable Olivia Pinkney said she was very pleased to be working with the author and said she values the support he has given to Sussex Police over many years.
