Queen Mary 2 turns around to rescue ship

The Queen Mary 2 has turned around to go to the aid of a vessel which appears to be in distress.

The Southampton-based ship is taking part in an Atlantic crossing as part of Cunard's 175th anniversary celebrations.

She is currently 450 miles off the Irish Coast on her way to Halifax, Canada.

The stricken vessel was spotted by a member of crew.
