A young driver has admitted killing two of his friends when his BMW crashed into a tree and flipped onto its roof. Kyle Witney admitted causing death by dangerous driving after friends Marc Martin, aged 22 years, and Matthew Preece, aged 21 years, died in the accident almost a year ago. The 21-year-old, who previously described the victims as being like "older brothers" to him, was behind the wheel during the tragedy on December 17 last year. Matthew and Marc were both sitting in the back of the BMW when it crashed shortly after 10pm. The vehicle was travelling on High Beeches Lane heading towards Handcross village when it came off the road.

Witney suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision and a 16-year-old girl suffered minor injuries. Both were taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton for treatment
