Appeal following serious crash

A cyclist has been left with a serious head injury following a serious crash in Caversham.

At around 8.30am today yesterday morning, a blue Proton car was travelling from Vastern Road on to the Napier Road roundabout when it was involved in a collision with a cyclist on a black mountain bicycle.

The cyclist, a man aged in his fifties, sustained a life-threatening head injury and was flown by air ambulance to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford where he remains.

The driver of the Proton stopped at the scene of the collision, and the road was closed in the area while an investigation was carried out.

“I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision. If you have any details which could assist with the investigation please call police.”
