Southern Rail strikes called off

The dispute is due to an ongoing row over changes to working practices for guards

Four days of strikes on Southern Rail, due to start next week, have been called off.

The action was planned to take place between Tuesday 10th May and Wednesday 11th May, as well as between Thursday 12th May and Friday 13th May.

The strikes were likely to affect up to half a million passengers but the RMT Union has announced those dates have been cancelled.

A new strike date has been set for May 20th.
