Future set fair for Newhaven-Dieppe ferry

The future of the Newhaven to Dieppe ferry looks more hopeful, after a delegation from Sussex held talks in France.

The service is currently operated by the Danish company DFDS, and subsidised by the French.

But the cross-Channel rivals Eurotunnel mounted a legal challenge, claiming that's unfair competition.

Now, a new contract has been put out to tender. Malcolm Shaw spoke to Lewes MP Maria Caulfield, and Steve Saunders, Mayor of Newhaven.
