A council has revealed its plans to revamp a West Sussex adventure playground are "on track".

Cherry Lane adventure playground has been closed for one year while renovations take place. The all-new facility will include a climbing zone in the trees, a large sand and water play area, and an underground tunnel zone.

A council spokesperson says they are excited by the plans, saying the adventure playground will focus on back-to-basics outdoor play, including digging in mud, a fire pit for cooking and den building.

Cherry Lane Adventure Playground is being completely transformed and I can’t wait to see it completed. All of this new equipment will provide children with many years of fun and exciting play.”

– Councillor Chris Mullins, Cabinet member for Wellbeing
