Someone could "end up dying" in Dartford tunnel congestion, warns MP

Highways England has apologised to drivers who were stuck in four-hour tailbacks after a computer failure closed the Dartford tunnel last night.

The sensors used to detect if a lorry is too tall to travel safely through the tunnels, stopped working. Around 300 lorries a month approach the crossing in the wrong lane. But the resulting chaos exasperated travellers.

Phil Hornby has been talking to the town's MP, Gareth Johnson.
