Man arrested after 3000 cannabis plants discovered

A cannabis factory containing an estimated 3,000 plants has been uncovered by police at Hythe in Kent

Local officers from the Community Policing Team and the Divisional Support Unit executed a warrant at an industrial unit on Thursday morning

In addition to the plants, police also found lighting and cultivation equipment.

A 59 year old man from Margate has been arrested on suspicion of supplying a controlled drug and released on bail until January.

Earlier, a tweet from Kent Police estimated the value at one million pounds- that is now being checked.

The force also stated that the plants have now been destroyed.
