Increased security on mosques advised after terror attack

Following yesterdays attacks, the chief executive of the Ramadhan Foundation has warned mosques to increase security and be aware of vigilante attacks.

Mr Mohammed Shafiq has said that there have been letters sent to over 1500 mosques and islamic centres, asking them to speak to local police and ensure the safety of their worshippers.

Paying tribute to PC Keith Palmer who was killed in the line of duty yesterday, Mr Shafiq offers his prayers to his family.

He believes that the coming days will be difficult for British Muslims as after such atrocities mosques could be targeted as acts of Muslim hatred.

"The terrorists aim to divide communities as British citizens, we will continue to work to bring people together and defeat the ideology of violence."

– Mr Mohammed Shafiq, Chief Executive of the Ramadhan Foundation
