Gillingham announce plans for new stadium

Gillingham, based at Priestfield, want to secure their long-term future Credit: Gillingham Football Club

Gillingham FC are calling on supporters, partners and local people to back their plans for a new state-of-the art stadium. The Gills want to secure their long-term future. Currently their home is Priestfield Stadium. Chairman Paul Scally has spent 17 years in his quest to find a new home for the club. He wants to provide a world-class community hub for Medway residents. The only suitable site is on land known locally as Mill Hill. The site is identified in the draft proposals of Medway Council's Local Plan.

We are asking Gillingham supporters, local businesses and residents as well as football fans the length and breadth of England to write to Medway Council in support of our aspirations of going to Mill Hill. Not only would this ensure that Gillingham Football Club have a long-term future at the heart of the community in Medway - such a move would help raise the profile of Medway, gain national and international recognition of the area and assist in placing this part of South East England firmly on the map for the good of everyone.
