A man in his twenties has died in a collision involving a car in Hampshire. The pedestrian was walking in the Highlands Road area in Fareham shortly after midnight. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
Hampshire Police say that a man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
The incident happened on Highlands Road, which has been cordoned off between Gudge Heath Lane and Slow Crescent. The road is not due to open until at least 8 o'clock this morning.
