A pedestrian has died after a serious collision involving a police car answering a 999 call in Brighton has died.

The collision happened in Devonshire Place area in Kemptown at 12.50am this morning. The man died at the scene. The road is closed for forensic investigations to be carried out.

Sussex Police said the incident has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
