Thousands descend on Kensington Palace to honour Diana

People from across the country - with some even travelling from abroad - to add to the sea of flowers laid at the gates of Kensington Palace this morning.

A scene not dissimilar from this day 20 years ago - when, on news of the Princess's death, mourners turned out to pay their respects.

Photos, tributes, cakes and dozens of flower bouquets are still being placed along the golden gates of the palace.
