Driver jailed after pedestrian is thrown against wall

A driver whose car hit a pedestrian in Southampton, leaving him with life changing injuries, has been sentenced to three years in prison.

Gentjan Lalaj was travelling at speed on Bevois Hill in the Portswood area in March when he struck Thomas Carey. The 26-year-old was thrown several metres against a wall, before the car burst into flames.
