The father of Ayesha Ali was praised for his courage after sitting through day after day of harrowing evidence hearing how she died at the hands of her mother and her lesbian lover.

Afsar Ali listened to graphic details of how how eight-year-old daughter was tortured and killed by the pair, who have been jailed for a total of 31 years.

Mr Ali, who was also a witness in the case, was separated from Ayesha's mother Polly Chowdhury at the time.

The Old Bailey heard she kept him from seeing the little girl while her and her lover Kiki Muddar were abusing her.

Judge Christopher Moss QC said: "I pause to pay tribute to Mr Ali, who has not only given evidence, but has stoically endured every day of this trial as the dreadful circumstances of the events leading to the death of his beloved daughter were put before the court.

"This court admires the courage and personal restraint that he has displayed throughout these proceedings."

Eight-year-old Ayesha Ali was tortured and killed on the orders of her mother's lesbian lover, who saw the child as a threat, the Old Bailey heard.

Judge Christopher Moss QC branded Kiki Muddar a "manipulative, wicked woman".

The court heard how her and Ayesha's mother Polly Chowdhury would hit the little girl and terrorise her at night wearing scary masks.

Muddar, who convinced Chowdhury her daughter was possessed by the devil, would also give the child cold baths as punishment for wetting herself.

Ayesha died from a head injury on 28 August 2013 and was found to have suffered more than 50 injuries including a bite mark and carpet burns.

Judge Moss told Ayesha's mother she had "disgracefully failed" in her fundamental position of trust to keep her daughter from harm.

Court told of bizarre torture tactics used on tragic Ayesha

Tragic Ayesha Ali was tortured for months before she was found dead on the floor of her bedroom in London, a jury heard - with her mother and her mother's lover taking it in turns to deliberately terrify her during the night by wearing a bizarre monster mask.

Her mother, Polly Chowdhury, would punish her by hitting her with her hand or a wooden spoon, while Chowdhury's lesbian lover Kiki Muddar gave her a cold bath for wetting the bed.

The jury at the Old Bailey heard that they would also take it in turns to wear the scary mask in the girl's room at night to frighten her into better behaviour.

A neighbour reported hearing her screaming in the night, pleading with her mother: "Amah, I don't want to be bad, Amah, Amah I don't want to be bad."

Chowdhury and Muddar were both convicted of manslaughter today and will be sentenced on Friday.

Mother 'groomed' by lover with fake online accounts

The mother of tragic schoolgirl Ayesha Ali told psychiatrists she had been "groomed" by her lesbian lover, who made her believe she was a "conduit" for her cyber boyfriend Jimmy, a court was told.

The jury at the Old Bailey heard that 'Jimmy' - one of the fake profiles created by Kiki Muddar to get close to Polly Chowdhury - said he was not allowed to meet Chowdhury in real life, so 'Skyman' - a spirit guide also invented by Muddar - arranged for 'Jimmy's' spirit to reside in Muddar's body, allowing Chowdhury and 'Jimmy' to be intimate.

Muddar - who said she was born to a Sikh family but was now a Jehovah's witness - also told Chowdhury that she had pain in her body which only went away when Chowdhury touched her.

The court heard that the characters would egg Chowdhury on to punish her eight-year-old daughter, telling her that the girl's "bad behaviour" was hurting them.

Chowdhury and Muddar were both convicted of manslaughter today and will be sentenced on Friday.

Father: I will never forgive ex and lover for killing my little girl

The devastated father of tragic Ayesha Ali has said he will never forgive his ex-wife and her "evil witch" lover for killing their "perfect" daughter.

Afsar Ali, aged 35, was in court for every day of the trial against his former partner Polly Chowdhury and her lover Kiki Muddar, who have both been convicted of manslaughter.

He said the death of his "intelligent and loving" eight-year-old had left him heartbroken.

It's completely destroyed my life from now until I die. The reason why I wanted to attend every day was I wanted to relive Ayesha's life, feel the pain. I don't think I can ever imagine what she had to go through.

No father wants to bury their child.

[Chowdhury's] first priority should have been Ayesha.

As a mother, she has to live with the pain for the rest of her life, I guess. The child you gave birth to - to take her life away - that is something I can never forgive. There are only two people I blame - that's her and Kiki.

My questions always come back to her being a mother and being there to protect. Kiki was an evil witch but she did not have responsibility, maybe as a human, to be caring and protecting - but as a mother, it was Polly's responsibility to ensure no harm came to her.
