Storm Doris: Woman killed by falling debris

A woman has been killed in Wolverhampton city centre in a Storm Doris-related incident.

Flights have been cancelled and commuters faced travel chaos as Storm Doris hit the UK, with winds reaching speeds of more than 90mph.

A man was literally blown off his feet, the roof of a Lidl was blown off in Blackpool and Coronation Street had to stop filming.

Roads blocked as Storm Doris brings down trees

High winds have caused trees to come down in Cambridgeshire.

Police are currently at the scene in Long Drove near Wisbech. One of the trees has taken out a power line.

There are also delays on the A1 in Bedfordshire after a tree came down at Chawston.

Suffolk Police say multiple trees have come down at West Stow near Bury St Edmunds.

Storm Doris blows roof from supermarket in Blackpool

The roof of a supermarket in Blackpool has partially blown off in strong winds.

Devonshire Road has been closed by police while the roof at the Lidl store is secured.

Storm Doris has already reached speeds of nearly 90mph and brought down power cables and trees when it hit the mainland from 6am this morning.

The Met Office upgraded the storm to a "weather bomb" - this is when a storm rapidly deepens in the space of 24 hours.
