Angel Of The North

Professor Anne Whitehead, from Newcastle University, is now carrying out research into why people choose to remember their loved ones at the Angel of the North.

Fans heading down to Wembley on the A1 spotted the monument adorned in the black and white stripes of Newcastle on Saturday morning.

The Angel of the North was first erected on a hilltop at the head of the Team Valley in Gateshead on 15 February 1998.
