Fabrice Muamba: Thierry Henry Twitter account a fake

A Twitter account claiming to be that of the footballer Theirry Henry, which gained more than 45,000 followers in less than an hour, is allegedly a fake.

Former Arsenal team mate Fabrice Muamba tweeted that he had been in contact with Henry and that he had denied joining the social networking site.

The account appears to have been disabled.

FA Chairman 'sorry to hear of Muamba's retirement'

On behalf of everybody at The FA I'd like to say how sorry we are to learn that Fabrice Muamba has had to end his professional football career.

His recovery has been miraculous and a great tribute to all who have been involved.

Tottenham Hotspur has tweeted their 'best wishes' to Fabrice Muamba.

It was during a game between Bolton and Spurs in March when Muamba collapsed.
