A 19-year-old Labour councillor from Goole has become the youngest mayor in the country.
Terence Smith tweeted about his 'pride' after being voted in for a 12-month term at the council's annual meeting on Thursday.
A father and son who died in a road accident near East Cowick yesterday were today named by Humberside police as Derek John Sarkar and 14-year-old Ethan Sarkar from Birmingham.
The pensioner who died in the same crash was named by police as Sheila Stavert-Lee, from Wigginton, near York.
The two survivors are in a serious condition in Leeds General Infirmary.

Debbie Hinchliffe, who lives less than a 100 metres from the bridge where the tragedy occurred, was first at the scene and made desperate efforts to help the victims.
She says the collision took place on a stretch of road where there have been a number of accidents.

A road accident investigation has been launched after three people were killed and two others were left fighting for their lives in a collision between two vehicles on a bridge.
The road was closed for a number of hours as specially trained officers conducted a detailed investigation of the scene.

Inspector John Lawson, of Humberside Police, has confirmed that a fatal collision occurred on the Aire and Calder bridge, over the canal, which left three people dead and two seriously injured. He said:
A spokesman has said that police, air ambulance and the fire brigade all were in attendance at a fatal road collision in Goole, North Yorkshire. A woman on the scene said police had been keeping locals well away, but she believed two cars were involved in the crash.
Lorries with cranes have moved into position to begin lifting the wreckage of the two vehicles from the bridge.
The Yorkshire Ambulance Service confirmed two patients had been airlifted by helicopter from a vehicle collision in Yorkshire to Leeds General Infirmary. But a spokeswoman said she could not confirm the nature or seriousness of their injuries.
