A holiday maker had attempted to pet the seal on the head before being bitten

Members of the public are getting to used to spotting 'Sammy' on the beach. 

A newborn pup is being looked after by Cornish Seal Sanctuary after public activity on a beach in St Agnes frightened his mother away.

Several attempts were made to find the endangered seal but he was finally rescued this week.
