A psychologist said a 17-year-old standing trial for the murder of Holly Newton, 15, could have suffered from the effects of PTSD - causing him to "zone out".
The 17-year-old told a jury he confessed being angry and a "horrible person" because he was sick of the trial and was trying to get a worse punishment.
The youth gave evidence by video-link to his trial, telling jurors he recalled getting off a bus on the day Holly Newton suffered 36 knife injuries.
