League One round-up: Scunthorpe go three points clear

Scunthorpe United restored their lead at the top of Sky Bet League One to three points with a 3-0 home victory over Millwall.

Sheffield United’s 2-1 win at Coventry on Thursday had put pressure on the third tier's pacesetters.

But goals from Hakeeb Adelakun and a brace for Paddy Madden powered the league leaders to victory at Glanford Park.

Third-placed Bolton Wanderers suffered a setback with a 1-0 defeat at Chesterfield, while fourth-placed Bradford City could only draw 1-1 at 16th placed Walsall.

Rochdale narrowed the gap to a point in fifth after a 3-2 win at Northampton Town with Peterborough United also climbing to the playoff spots with a 2-0 win at Charlton.

AFC Wimbledon were the division’s biggest winners as they thrashed Port Vale 4-0 at home.

There were victories too for Oxford United (3-2 at Bury), Gillingham (1-0 over MK Dons), Southend (2-0 at Oldham), Shrewsbury Town (2-0 over Bristol) while Swindon and Fleetwood played out a 1-1 draw.
