Emergency services rushed to East London this afternoon after a bus crashed into a wall in a busy street. 
Officers from the Met were called to Main Road, Romford at around 1.55pm today (Wednesday, May 18) to reports of the crash.
Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found that a bus had left the road and crashed into a perimeter wall. The Met told MyLondon they believe there are 10 to 15 casualties. Their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Cordons and closures remain in place and local traffic delays are expected. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
Anyone who witnessed the incident but has not yet spoken with police should call 101 or Tweet @MetCC quoting 4159/18MAY.
A spokesperson from the London Ambulance service confirmed five people have been taken to hospital for their injuries. They said: “We were called at 1.55pm today (18 May) to reports of a road traffic collision on Main Road, Romford."
“We sent three ambulance crews, a paramedic in a response car, an incident response officer, an advanced paramedic, and members of our hazardous area response team (HART), with the first of our medics arriving within six minutes."
“We treated 15 patients at the scene. We took five of these patients to hospital, and one further patient also made their own way to hospital. The remaining nine patients were checked over and discharged at the scene.”

Emergency services were called to Main Road after the 174 service collided with a wall close to a block of flats.
