Marwell Wildlife Park

A popular zoo has taken what it describes as the 'incredibly difficult' decision to put down one its rare male Amur tigers.

Thanks to the efforts of Marwell Wildlife near Winchester, the scimitar-horned oryx is no longer regarded as extinct in the wild.

Marwell Zoo near Winchester said it has managed to secure additional water supplies for day guests but has had to switch off further ticket sales for today.
