Hari Budha Magar, who lives in Canterbury, Kent, became the first double above-the-knee amputee (DAK) to reach the summit of Mount Everest at 8,849m in 2023.

The Oxford-based lexicographer, etymologist and author, 59, has been made an MBE for services to literature and to language in the King’s Birthday Honours list.
