The TransPennine Express train came off the tracks early this morning. No one was injured but an investigation has now been launched into the incident.

As part of a national change, Northern announced their new rail timetables will be in operation from Sunday 12 December 2021. 

Due to a rail buckling in the heat between Sunderland and Newcastle this afternoon some lines are blocked. Services are being diverted via Darlington.
