MPs are preparing to sit in the Commons on a Saturday for the first time since the Falklands War.
MPs endorsed Sir Oliver Letwin's cross-party Brexit plan by 329 votes to 302 - inflicting a defeat on the government.
Oliver Letwin, the chancellor for the duchy of Lancaster, has been sacked from his role in the cabinet.
Mr Letwin had responsibility for the Cabinet Office and was seen as former prime minister David Cameron's chief fixer.
