Road Works

The bridge, connecting Stockton and Middlesbrough, is now closed with signed diversions in place for motorists.

Drivers warned to expect delays on the A1 southbound following the discovery of a four-metre-deep cavity, National Highways have said.

During the road works traffic will be diverted along South Hill from 6am to 10am.
