Four-year-old pet Rose was discovered hiding behind the engine looking terrified.

It's not clear where the mother dog is, but the council say the pups were "clearly loved" and the owner did what they thought was right at the time.

Ben Hanger, who's 31 and from Sheerness, grabbed the 11-year-old child's wrist but she was able to push him away and run to safety.
