Shipwreck

The Earl of Abergavenny merchant sailing ship sank off the coast of Weymouth in Dorset in 1805 with the loss of over 200 people.

The Flying Foam met its fateful end in 1936 after trying to battle against a raging storm in north Wales. Now the remains of the ship could be buried forever.

Jersey Marine Conservation found rope and netting wrapped around the boat during dives to survey the shipwreck. They want the area protected from dredging.
