A new £750,000 urban sports park has opened at Lagan Valley Leisure Centre in Newtownabbey, Co Antrim.

The proposals were submitted in February and following approval, work will begin in the New Year. The park is expected to be ready by the end of May 2022.

Plans have been on the table since the beginning of this year but some groups have raised concerns over the proximity of the site to the cycle racing track.
