South Africa beat Afghanistan in T20 World Cup

AB de Villiers and Chris Morris kick-started South Africa's World Twenty20 campaign as they managed to defend another 200-plus total in Mumbai against Afghanistan.

The Proteas' semi-final aspirations were in the balance following a high-scoring loss to England on Saturday, when Eoin Morgan's men produced the second highest chase in Twenty20 international history by hunting down 230.

And after posting 209 for five in the same stadium, thanks largely to De Villiers' 64 from 29 balls - 29 of which came in one over off teenager Rashid Khan - they were in danger of being undone by a bright Afghanistan start before Morris returned four for 27 and they were all out for 172 in South Africa's 37-run success.
