Damp weather didn't stop thousands turning out watch the Olympic Torch make its way through the North East.
The Olympic flame made its way down the glass facade of The Sage building in Gateshead carried by an abseiler early this morning. A cheering crowd of several hundred turned at the iconic music venue to watch the feat.
Mia Rathband, the daughter of PC David Rathband, carried the olympic torch blindfolded through the streets of the Whitburn in South Tyneside in honour of her late father.
And Steve Cram carried the flame through the Sunderland Aquatics Centre as the relay continued through Wearside.
