Cheryl Cole fans camped out overnight on Northumberland Street in Newcastle for the chance to meet her. She's appearing at HMV for a record signing session from 6pm till 8 pm this evening.

The Newcastle signing session is one of only two appearances she's making to promote her album - A Million Lights - which was released yesterday.

Yesterday she met fans at HMV in London and spoke exclusively to ITVs Lucrezia Millarini.

After she'd left London she travelled to Newcastle where her fans dedication in camping out to meet her didn't go unnoticed.

Call My Name sold 152,000 copies in its first week of release to reach number one, ending the two-week reign of Diamond Jubilee anthem Sing by Gary Barlow and his Commonwealth Band.

It had the highest opening sales for a single this year, outselling the top 5 singles combined.
