As military operations come to an end in Afghanistan, we remember the men from this region who lost their lives.

41 soldiers from our region died. Some were based at Catterick Garrison, in North Yorkshire, where a total of 68 soldiers lost their lives during the 13 year conflict.

Earlier today we asked you to help us honour them by leaving your tributes to the men on our Facebook page. These are just some of your comments:

Our thoughts are with their families and friends. Be proud, they died serving their country.

– Elaine Godber
