Durham's archives go digital with help of a vacuum cleaner

Durham Cathedral's rare manuscripts are being made available online

Hundreds of books from the Middle Ages, that have been hidden away in Durham Cathedral, are to be available for the first time ever.

The books, which belonged to monks hundreds of years ago, are being photographed and put online using a special technique with a vacuum cleaner.

It'll take around five years for the complete collection to be digitised.
