D-day veterans have been honoured with France's highest award, the Legion d'Honneur, for helping to liberate the country in 1945.
An emotional service was held on Sunday at The Yorkshire Air Museum, at Elvington, near York.
France announced, in 2014, it would award the medal to any surviving Allied service-person who helped the country during World War Two. This event was a continuation of that promise and, in attendance, was a representative from the Embassy of France in London.
The medals were greatly received by the veterans.
