Sunderland AFC’s visit to the Shinyanga Region of Tanzania has come to an end with over 20 coaches being welcomed into Sunderland coaching.

Graham Robinson, Head of International Development at Sunderland AFC, praised the work and dedication of 29 participants who took part in club partner’s, Acacia Mining, dedicated CSR programme over the past week.

The Sunderland delegate held a week-long coaching programme near the Buzwagi Mine as the club works to help improve community football throughout Tanzania.

“A key part of our partnership with Acacia is about developing coaches who are competent to go into the community and deliver sessions to small or large groups no matter the facilities or equipment.

“By working with these 29 participants, these coaches can have an impact on up to 5000 children and by the club training them properly this figure can double with them teaching other coaches.

“I must congratulate all of the coaches, the sessions they delivered were to a very high standard and meticulously planned. They all passed with flying colours and I am delighted to welcome them all in to the ever increasing Sunderland coaching family.”
