Durham Castle, one of the North East’s premier wedding venues, is now licensed to hold civil ceremonies.

The services, which are non-religious but legally binding, can be held in various places within Durham University’s historic venue, such as the beautiful Fellows Garden, or inside the Norman Gallery.

Smaller, more intimate, indoor ceremonies can also be arranged in the Senate Room, Octagon Room or Bishop Suite.

Durham Castle can accommodate both daytime and evening wedding receptions for up to 200 guests.
