Anger over plans to move NHS services from South Tyneside to Sunderland
Protestors have been gathering outside Jarrow Community Centre to voice their anger about proposals to transfer some health services from South Tyneside District Hospital to Sunderland Royal Infirmary.
The areas under the spotlight include stroke services, maternity and women's health, along with urgent and emergency children's care.
Health bosses say changes are essential to prevent a crisis. But campaigners in Jarrow today say the plans would be a disaster for their community.
