The streets have been pounded in practice and the wait is almost over.
On Sunday more than 50,000 people will take part in this year's Great North Run.
Runners of all abilities will take part; some who are veterans of the world's most popular half marathon, and some who are tackling the 13.1 mile course for the first time.
Now the starting line is in sight, we asked Sunderland's Olympic marathon star Alyson Dixon for any last minute tips:
Stop running! The hard work has been done. Save yourself for Sunday
Drink - but not too much. You need to be hydrated but don't over hydrate.
Eat - but again not too much. Increase your carb intake a little, but not massively.
Relax. Get there early on Sunday to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy it!
