Workers at an aircraft parts manufacturer in County Durham are on strike after a row with management over a change in shift patterns.

Around 130 people at Northern Aerospace in Consett are taking industrial action.

The GMB Union says that shift changes have left its members up to eight thousand pounds a year out of pocket.

The business makes parts for customers such as Airbus and Boeing,

Bosses say the move is in response to a fall in orders. The company has worked hard to avoid job losses and minimise the reduction in incomes.

More strike action is scheduled next month.
