Middlesbrough have officially unveiled a touching tribute to Ali Brownlee, the much-loved BBC Tees and Boro TV commentator who died last year.

The voice of Boro's highs and lows for three decades - Ali's famous commentary during the UEFA Cup semi final in 2006 has been immortalised on the bridge next to the Riverside Stadium.

Party, party everyone over to my house for a parmo.

A tribute etched into history - to honour a Boro fan, commentator, a son and dad, never to be forgotten.

Alastair would have been very, very proud to think that you all could think of him like that.

To be able to put one of his quotations up on a wall I think he would have been proud.

When Ali died last year, Middlesbrough lost one of its own sons. Come Sunday lunchtime when the fans arrive for the derby against Sunderland they'll have memories of that big night in Europe and Ali's commentary.
