A Durham rugby player has died and another is critically ill in hospital after falling ill on tour in Sri Lanka.
The team was from Durham City RFC and touring as Clems Pirates. A statement on the website said two players suffered "non-rugby related breathing problems" and were admitted to hospital in Colombo on Sunday.
Thomas Howard, who was 25 and from Durham City, later died. Tom Baty, who is 26 and also from Durham City, remains in hospital receiving treatment.
The Foreign Office said it was helping the families involved and are in contact with the Sri Lankan medical services. They are also in contact with the rugby club.
